Ways To Support
The mission of Friends of Westminster (FOW) is to provide the school with financial and volunteer support to enhance the school experience for all students. We raise money to help fund additional Teachers and Aides, Field Trips, Enrichments (Garden, Mosaic, Yoga, Music, etc) and Campus Beautification. We also provide opportunities to build a strong, united school community by hosting several events, activities and fundraisers throughout the year that require a lot of parent volunteer support. We hope you can lend a hand and make some friends and have some fun along the way!
ATTEND MONTHLY MEETINGS:
Monthly meetings are held on the FIRST TUESDAY of the month at 8:15am in the Parent Center. They generally last an hour and coffee/refreshments are served. Attending will allow you to get to know other parents, express your ideas, sign up to volunteer (we always need help!), and stay informed about what is going on at the school. You do not need to be an FOW member to attend, all are welcome.
DONATE DURING THE WE GIVE! ANNUAL GIVING CAMPAIGN:
WE Give! Annual Giving Campaign is the primary fundraiser of the school year and our annual goal is to raise $75,000. Our school has a diverse community where students of all means and backgrounds learn side-by-side. We strive to create a welcoming environment and culture of inclusivity. As a Title I school, we understand that many of us may not be able to contribute a large amount. Our hope is that everyone will participate and give whatever they can. Every dollar gets us closer to our goal! If you are in the position to donate the suggested $1500 per child or more, please do. Giving what you can for those who cannot is important and greatly appreciated - it benefits ALL of our children.
ATTEND EVENTS & PARTICIPATE IN FUNDRAISERS:
There are FOW sponsored community building events and small fundraisers throughout the year. You can help FOW raise additional money to support the school by participating. Purchase books at the Book Fairs. Attend our Movie Night and Spring Dance. Dine and shop at participating restaurants/retailers during fundraisers. Identify potential sponsors for the Artwork Sponsorship Program or become a sponsor yourself. Help your child collect pledges from friends and family during our annual Physical Education fundraiser WE Fitness FUNDay in May.
SHOP AT RALPH’S GROCERY STORE:
Ralph’s will donate a percentage of registered household purchases to FOW each quarter. Step by step instructions can be found at www.ralphs.com. Click on “Community”, “Ralph’s Community Contribution Program” and then “Enroll Now”. Select FRIENDS OF WESTMINSTER as your charitable organization.
